Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. When I was fairly young, my parents got divorced. Being that Thanksgiving is the holiday to eat, as a teenage boy with a bottomless pit for a stomach, I made the most of it. I would kick off the day at my mom’s and then have a whole other meal at my dad’s house. I’d even get to eat a third meal at my girlfriend’s house — it was awesome!

I’m the oddball in my family because, for me, breakfast is a must. It is my absolute favorite meal of the day, so I was happy to learn that September is Better Breakfast month. She was a huge figure in my life and played a big part in how I ended up going into medicine in the first place — after all, she was a registered nurse before my sister and I came along.
