I often hear from patients – both women AND men – that they are less than thrilled with their profile and in search of a solution to reduce a stubborn double chin. They share that FaceTime calls with family and friends (or video conferences at work) often bring attention to the chin area, and the struggle to find a flattering angle can be both frustrating and discouraging. If you are self-conscious about your profile, I’m pleased to share a non-surgical treatment with you.
Target That Double Chin
Kybella® is FDA-approved for the treatment of submental (under the chin) fat. Whether due to genetics, fluctuations in weight, or aging, Kybella® destroys fat cells under the chin, leading to a reduction in fullness.
How It Works:
The active ingredient in Kybella® is deoxycholic acid (a naturally occurring bile salt that dissolves fat). Through a series of tiny, targeted injections, Kybella® can help rid patients of fat stored under the chin. The average amount of treatments depends on the case but typically ranges from two to four sessions.
While liposuction is still available, this new FDA-approved solution provides another option without surgical intervention.
For Women AND Men
Kybella® can deliver significant benefits for both sexes. For men, Kybella® treatments can offer the look of a “strong chin,” which is often tied to feeling more masculine.*
Fox News Health recently featured my practice as offering what an increasing number of men are looking for: a surgery-free treatment for the unwanted double chin. The article highlighted what many of us may joke about, but won’t openly admit: we hate our double chins and wish we could make them go away. “Since Kybella® first emerged on the market in 2015, experts say they have seen an increase in men between the ages of 30 and 70 opting for the treatment. In fact, 73 percent of people say they don’t like the extra fat under their chin and neck, according to a survey by the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.”
For women, Kybella can help ease feelings of insecurity about your chin area. In clinical studies, Allergan reported that 79 percent of patients treated with Kybella had improved satisfaction with the appearance of their face and the area beneath their chin (12 weeks after their last treatment). Keep the chin you want and get rid of the rest!
